The Keebler Company was founded by Godfrey Keebler in the 1850s in Philadelphia. It was originally a neighborhood bakery, but since that time has merged and grown to become the second largest cookie and cracker manufacturer in the United States. There are nine Keebler bakeries in the states, including one in southwestern Ohio which was featured in the videotape.

The Keebler Company is home to Ernie Keebler and the Keebler Elves, who create the “uncommonly good” snacks we see featured in commercials on television and in newspaper advertising. All the Keebler employees are proud to consider themselves elves and exhibit elfin values of integrity, meeting customer needs, devotion to quality, and teamwork. Keebler brands include: Club Crackers (which were featured in the video), Chips Deluxe, Pecan Sandies, Cheez-It snack crackers and Zesta Saltines.

More information is available on the Keebler Company at their website.

Mike McGrath, Group Director of Manufacturing for Keebler, is featured in the video. After getting an undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and after a stint in the Marine Corps, Mike joined Keebler as Warehouse Supervisor and worked as manager in different departments before being promoted to his current position. As Group Director of Manufacturing, Mike oversees operations at four Keebler bakeries nationwide. While he uses math every day, throughout the day, he doesn’t really think about it. “It’s like riding a bicycle. You’re not really conscious of what you’re doing, or making a concerted effort, but it just comes naturally because it’s something you apply to virtually everything you do."
