Ohio Math Works is an interactive, award-winning, multimedia project that shows students in grades 7, 8 and 9 how industry professionals use mathematics in their careers! Videos take students behind the scenes in companies and give students an opportunity to do the math-based tasks that are done by professionals on the job.

In accomplishing these goals, students are taught the math concepts they find most difficult to master under the state’s ninth grade proficiency tests.

Teachers incorporating Ohio Math Works materials into their classrooms have abundant support for their work, in the Teacher’s Instruction Guide, through professional development opportunities and here on the web.

Ohio Math Works has received the 2001 CEN Education Award in the K-12 Non-Traditional Multimedia category and is a 2000 Eddie Award Winner in the Best Web-Original Content Category! CEN honors outstanding achievement in instructional television production. The Eddies honor exceptional K-12 online classroom content, as judged by an independent panel of teachers, educational researchers and professional association members.

Ohio Math Works has been recognized by the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (now www.goenc.com/) as one of several math sites that will engage your most resistant math student!
